It happened too quick for Tracy to react. An eight year old boy on a bicycle darted out in the street. She almost stopped in time. Her bumper tapped the bike and over he went. But he got up and seemed ok.
However a couple hours later, Tracy’s parents got a call that their 18 year old daughter was accused of felony hit and run. They couldn’t believe it. They knew a felony conviction would wipe out any plans that Tracy had to make something of her life. They hired Len Kachinsky of Sisson And Kachinsky Law Offices to make the best of what could be a disastrous situation.
Tracy had a lot things going for her. She had virtually no prior record and the child’s injuries were limited to bumps and bruises.
The DA wasn’t willing to budge until we were ready to walk into trial. The charge was finally dropped to a misdemeanor and Tracy paid a $300.00 fine, but she did not have to go to jail or have a felony on her record.
